Welcome to the website of the Geographical Institute of CSFK!

Our Institute was founded as an independent research institute in 1951. The Hungarian Academy of Sciences integrated our community into the Centre for Astronomy and Earth Sciences in 2011. Our primary mission is to focus on exploratory research in the fields of human and physical geography and their boundaries. Our research and non-research staff are at your service to help you with your geography-related research and knowledge dissemination questions. Here, You can find up-to-date information on the latest results of our research and access to our research infrastructures. I also recommend the books and atlases of our Institute, first of all the National Atlas of Hungary and the open-access issues of the Hungarian Geographical Bulletin.
